Nestled inside Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market, Pike Market Child Care and Preschool rests on the second floor of the market. Hidden from view of many market goers, PMCCP comes to life every morning to the sun shining over Elliott Bay and the smell of fresh fruits, flowers, and pastries from the market above.

Pike Place Market was born on August 17th, 1907 when eight farmers gathered to sell produce to consumers who embraced the philosophy of engaging directly with the growers of their food. Today, Pike Place Market attracts millions of visitors every year to engage in this very sort of interaction. To learn more about the market, visit: http://pikeplacemarket.org

Dear PMCCP Friends, Families, and Alumni,My first month at PMCCP has been wonderful! Thank you for being so welcoming! Getting to overlap with Ellen for three weeks ensured a seamless transition in leadership. We were able to complete the 2012-2013 Budget together and along with Judy, we created the Fund Development Plan for the year ahead. Mostly, I have enjoyed getting to know the children, families and staff here at the Center. I am delighted to be in an environment that has such a positive vibe all day long. We have an outstanding teaching and administrative team and I am already feeling completely at home.I find myself inspired and charged-up by PMCCP’s mission to provide high quality, affordable child care and preschool to families of all income levels. I am proud to say that last year we were able to assist families with $220,000 of tuition assistance.

We so appreciate your help with the WALK and all of the other events and activities that helped us to raise these much needed funds.I look forward to getting to know you more and hope you will feel free to drop by and chat anytime.
